ABOUT

Shalom Studios is a faith-based recording studio. Established in 2016, Shalom Studios' purpose is to produce and record positive and encouraging praise and worship music.  

Shalom Studios is located at Shalom Assembly of Yahweh in Sterling, IL which rests upon a beautiful 17 acres of land. The fresh air and scenery makes for a great environment to get inspired and get creative. The studio itself offers an intimate, warm space perfect for spending time writing and producing music. There are also dorms on the property to stay in for long recording sessions. 

Shalom Studios is managed by Marcus Castillo. Marcus has his Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition & Theory with a minor in Music Production. He is a multi-instrumentalist and has also been the band director at Shalom Assembly of Yahweh for over 8 years.

Since we began we have always been trying to improve our recording space to give you the cleanest sound as possible. Each room is acoustically treated just enough to give you full control in post production while giving a natural room sound while you play live.
ROOM A:
Room A is our main recording space with acoustic panels around the entire room and a diffuser on the back wall. Capable of recording everything from vocals to drums, Room A is our largest space to play in.

ROOM B:
Our second largest room is primarily used to record drums. It has acoustic panels as well as base traps for lower frequencies. The panels can even be removed to change the room sound to the preferred natural sound.

VOCAL BOOTH:
Our vocal booth is a full isolation booth completely covered head to toe in acoustic treatment. This gives you full control over the recording in post and has been used for both vocals and acoustic instruments such as guitar.

Our rates are a suggested amount, as we run entirely off of donations from our clients. Please feel free to contact us to discuss any further rate amounts or if you have any other questions.

  • What are your business hours?

    Business hours vary depending on your availability. We try to be flexible to give you the time needed to record all the tracks you need without feeling rushed.

  • Is there a place to stay the night need be?

    The Assembly has dorms that would be available for artists/artists families. You would need to bring your own food, bedding, and personal items.


    Showers and laundry is available.

  • What if I can't give the suggested $40/h for my recording?

    Shalom Studios is entirely donation based. If you can't spend $40/h plan on giving what you can/feel is fair for your time with us.

  • Do you offer mixing & mastering?

    Due to the time consuming nature of mixing and mastering, Shalom Studios does not offer this service. 


    Marcus offers personal mixing and mastering services and/or can  recomend other mixing engineers you can contact.

  • What if my music isn't religious or "faith-based"?

    Shalom Studios does not record explicit content such as explicit language or subject matter.

  • How can I support the studio?

    Down below is a general donation link. Here you can give to the studio whatever able. We will use the money where needed for better equipment and to continue producing higher quality content for our clients and followers.

The albums offer a variety of covers and original music all giving praise to our Heavenly Father Yahweh.
The albums are available for streaming  on all major streaming platforms and can be purchased on Apple Music.
